Mama Mzungu provides education in Turkana

Mama Mzungu was founded in 1996, and focusses itself on giving girls the neccesary financial support to get an education.
Secondary education is often far too expensive, which is the primary reason for the region's continuing decline in welfare and education. Our foundation grants annual funds to motivated, disadvantaged children so that they may continue their education. With the help of our sponsors between 20 and 35 children start their secondary education each year.
Mama Mzungu also organises awareness workshops in Lodwar, the capital of Turkana, and delivers a weekly supply of milk, vegetables and fruit to the many tuberculosis patients in the city's hospital. Depending on the possibilities our organisation has is able to help facilitate the construction of new buildings. Finished projects include a classroom and toilets for the TBC-section of the hospital.
